A noun is a word that names a person, place, animal, or thing.
👉 मराठीत सांगायचं झालं, तर संज्ञा म्हणजे नाव – व्यक्तीचं, प्राण्याचं, वस्तूचं किंवा ठिकाणाचं नाव.
We give names to people, places, animals, and things so we can talk about them.
Without nouns, we cannot tell what or who we are talking about!
Nouns that tell us who.
Examples: Raju, teacher, doctor, mother

Sentence: Raju is a smart boy.
Nouns that tell us where.
Examples: school, garden, Mumbai, market
Marathi: शाळा, बाग, मुंबई, बाजार
Sentence: We play in the garden.
Nouns that tell us about animals.
Examples: dog, cat, lion, elephant
Marathi: कुत्रा, मांजर, सिंह, हत्ती
Sentence: The elephant is big.
Nouns that are the names of things we can touch or see.
Examples: pen, ball, book, chair

Who is it? → Name of a person
Where is it? → Name of a place

Running, jumping (These are actions, not names – they are verbs)
Big, small, red (These are describing words – they are adjectives)
Quickly, slowly (These are how words – they are adverbs)
